(English version below.)
» -Osho

The water was warm and soothing. My whole body was immersed and the senses were calm and still. It was early morning and I had decided to take a bath upon waking up. Something I never do. Usually my meditation mat is my first RDV of the morning. But not this morning.
I had spontaneously decided to listen to an Osho talk and take a bath. In my new apartment I have a bathtub, something I have not had for a few years and it is a real luxury to submerge my whole body in warm water.
I quickly understood why I had been guided to listen to Osho this morning while taking a bath. As I listened, tears flowed and mixed with the bath water. The beauty of his words were so very intense and an answer to an unknown prayer. My entire being was filled with gratitude for Life. For the Divine. His talk was incredibly inspiring and corresponded exactly with something that has been coming to me very often these past few weeks.
For a while now the word receptivity has been lingering, like a mantra repeating itself on its own. Receptivity is one of the qualities that defines the feminine state, receiving the Divine not only when in meditation but all the time throughout the day. In opposition to the masculine state that is always doing, doing. That seeks and searches, trying to find a solution, a reason behind something, trying to attain a goal. But this is all ego driven. On the spiritual path to become a Buddha it is when we drop all doing, when we “empty the vessel” that there is space for the Divine to enter or more accurately, to emerge. It is a state of active passivity. This opening is the feminine state.
The masculine is in the mind, the feminine is led from the heart. From love. From intuition. In fact the Divine is always seeking us. When we open to the Grace that is constantly flowing, when we no longer resist Existence but see the Divinity in it all, we feel the soft embrace of the Beloved and it is so very sweet. So much so, that all other desires drop away as nothing is as delicious and blissful as this fusion with the Divine. And no special circumstances are needed as it is always present. In fact it is our very essence. It is the fabric of Existence.
The well known story of Gautuma Buddha illustrates this well. After many years of seeking and searching (masculine state) on the spiritual path one day he was so exhausted and could no longer continue he sat under a Boddhi tree and stopped. He stopped everything. He gave up the search entirely. He sat there in receptivity to Life as it was, (feminine state). It was upon waking the next morning very early when he saw the last star in the night sky disappearing, in that moment he became enlightened.
To clarify, for some people in the beginning on the spiritual path there is effort necessary (masculine state) but eventually it has to be dropped when it has served its purpose and is no longer needed. Other people enter directly into the feminine state easily as the heart is open and love and devotion is overflowing.
Again, there is nothing wrong with the masculine state, we need it to get projects done etc. But the Divine is not a project to be accomplished, it is our natural state of being, there is no goal to be achieved. Just Life to be lived with an open heart, in equanimity and joy, the result being uninterrupted Ananda- Bliss.
"Seek not; otherwise you will miss it.
Seek not; just be, and you have found it.
It is something within you. It is not something far away. It has not to be found; it is the finder himself. It has not to be sought; it is the seeker himself." -Osho
